This book is full of great photos of children, and provides some explanation of how they were shot. However, as an advanced amateur/semi-pro photographer, I was honestly hoping for something "more", something I haven't seen in other photo books. For me, it wasn't worth the purchase price, so I sold my copy and will use the proceeds toward another book.

In addition to lighting, composition, exposure, and other general portrait skills, photographing children requires good planning, quick thinking, flexibility, and a great deal of psychology. In this book, over a dozen masters of these arts-top children's portrait photographers from around the United States-share their secrets for achieving memorable portraits. Photographers will learn how to make the most of their tools, use studio lighting to flatter their subjects, and pose children-especially those who have little or no interest in having their picture taken. Photographers will also learn how to create children's albums (much like wedding albums) and, paired with sales techniques, how these albums can improve sales.
