(More customer reviews)I first read this during Court TV's crime-writing contest. You paint a scene well. There are simply no wasted words. What I like most about this story, besides the great setting and characterizations, is that it flows better than many I've read. We are taken immediately into the action of the story and the dramatic tension is intense. We are then swept along as action builds, yet at the same time, we get a strong sense of the characters. We have someone to root for and very bad villains. The writing reminds me of Grisham. I love the title and book jacket! It works well in this story. Smooth writing, great suspense.

A young couple finds a bag containing a fortune off the coast of Key West. In a panic, they report it to authorities-but only half. The cops aren't fearless and the good guys have uncertain ethics.The refreshingly-different novel has villains reminiscent of Thomas Harris's "Hannibal Lechter," balanced with satire in the style of Carl Hiaasen. The book depicts criminal violence with mature language and themes.
